Topic – The First Step in Software Testing – A talk for youngsters

Abstract

So, my talk is for the young blood joining the testers community.
Career wise speaking, last 10 years or so have seen a significant rise in not only jobs for software testers but an urge to join the field by the youngsters.

We have also seen companies changing their mindsets about hiring more quality assurance professionals in contrast to Business Analysts and Developers – specially here in Pakistan, due to tireless efforts by community mentors, things have really improved.

Coming back to youngsters, anybody who is keen to take up software testing as a career, the first question that pops up in their mind is about where and how to start testing?

My talk is about identifying those tiny yet important steps a fresh starter can adapt while in a role of software tester.

Arslan is an active testers community contributor, has experience of working with Software Development, Management Consulting and Training firms. Alongside provision of several awareness and training sessions for academia and industrial professionals.

Being an old soul, he has adapted the role of mentor-ship and community engagements for the Software Testers community in Pakistan and abroad.
Currently working in the capacity of SQA Manager at Hyper Data Computing in Karachi – Arslan has over 20 years of experience with diverse industry and IT setups.
