Atomic Talk Title: Bad Spin! Don’t Ignore Your Automation Ecosystem
On the game show Wheel of Fortune, contestants spin a giant wheel trying to earn money and win prizes. Not all the spaces are winners, though; wheel spaces such as “Lose A Turn” or “Bankrupt” are considered “bad spins”. This talk describes a bad spin in terms of poor test automation implementation.
Join Paul Grizzaffi as he presents a bad spin from his career that was not due to not respecting the organization’s automation ecosystem, i.e., the strategy, the audience, and the environment.
- Strategy is the why and how you should automation based on business goals and value.
- Audience comprises the team members directly and indirectly interested in automation.
- Environment is the “where” you run automation and those applications with which automation interacts.
- Ignoring the context-specific aspects of the ecosystem increases the risk of automation failure.
