Jerry Weinberg (27 Oct 1933 – 07 August 2018) was a well-known Scientist, Psychologist, & Anthropologist of Software Development. He contributed to developing and testing software for over 50 years and was one of the engineers who worked on the first American NASA space program (Project Mercury), where he designed and implemented the space tracking network focusing on the first multi-programmed operating systems.
Jerry was also a prolific author of 30+ books. Some of his popular books were: Secrets of Consulting, An Introduction to General Systems Thinking, Becoming a Technical Leader, Weinberg on Writing, Perfect Software and Other Illusions About Testing, Are your Lights on and many others.
To celebrate Jerry’s work and his influence over the lives of many of us, we are doing a small event as a tribute to Jerry. The event is virtual and would last for a couple of hours.
We plan to do it on the 27th of October i.e., Jerry’s birthday.
The event consists of some experience sharing and discussions by people who were close to Jerry, talking about his work, Jerry’s teaching, and memories along with lessons learned people have to share.
If you are someone who is passionate about Quality or have been influenced by the writings / work by Jerry Weinberg, then event is open for everyone at the cost of their time and energy.
